Ecumenical Worship Services
Each year AVAC holds four community worship services. All services are interdenominational and welcome participation from all Christians.
- Community Good Friday Service – Held annually at Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, PA from noon – 3 pm.
- Martin Luther King Memorial Service – The 2024 service was held at Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church in New Kensington . The Rev. Dr. Terrance L. Davis of Three Rivers Metropolitan Church in Pittaburgh’s historic Hill District was the speaker. All donations through the free will offering are used for scholarships to assist students further their education.
- Festival of Faith – Last year’s festival was be held on October 29th at The United Presbyterian Church New Kensington at 7:00 pm. Choirs and musical groups from AVAC member churches provided the music. Our guest speaker was Pastor Robert J. Henry, President of AVAC. Plans for this year’s faestival are underway.
- National Day of Prayer – National Day of Prayer is an annual observance day which is observed on the first Thursday in the month of May. On this day, Americans are encouraged to give thanks and to turn to God in prayer and peaceful meditation.This year’s service was held at Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church.
